The Elora-Fergus Studio tour brings together artists and the people who buy their art in the relaxed and informative setting of studios spread across scenic Centre Wellington.
Being on the tour gives artists the opportunity to showcase their works and studios to the public. But the tour is more than just an insight into the creative process—artists get face-to-face with local residents and visitors who may know them only as names on a canvas or a piece of pottery. The tour gives art a face and a personality.
The first studio tour, in 1987, featured about a dozen artists in a "trial run" and it has grown over the years to become a staple of the fall art and tourism calendar throughout the area.
Approximately three dozen Centre Wellington artists working in almost every artistic medium take part—internationally known painters like Joel Masewich, award-winning glass artists like Stephen Kitras and Tim and Katherine McManus, plus jewellers, potters, sculptors, fabric artists, photographers, metal workers and encaustic artists.
The self-guided, free tour runs the last weekend in September and the first weekend in October, and takes visitors on a delightful trek through historic Fergus and Elora, and out into the autumn countryside in the heart of southwestern Ontario. Home base is the restored stone school building now the Elora Centre for the Arts—one example of the wealth of history and heritage buildings visitors will find on the tour. Many are within short walking distance of each other.

Studios open 10 am to 5 pm each weekend. Select studios also open year-round by appointment.
